my country: MALTA: The small island in the middle of the Mediterreanen
We live in Birkirkara, MALTA. Malta is in Europe and exactly in the middle of the meditereanen Sea, just under Sicily. Malta measure only 300 sq km and with a population of 345,000 it is one of the most densely populated country in the world, and certainly in Europe. The Capital of Malta is Valletta. Malta boasts of a very rich history having been occupied by a number of people, eventually Christianised by St Paul, when shipwrecked on his way to Rome. Lately Malta was occupied by the Knights of St John, by the French, the British, until finally attaining Independence in 1964. Ten years later Malta became a Republic. Notwithstanding the size Malta has its own language, and currency.
